2024 MESA Bike Tour Day 2

40 miles today/101 miles total


It was a lovely day to bike through Ohio’s farmland!

We’re deep in Amish country for the next 2 days

Our host club of Marion treated us to a Bob Evans breakfast and then we set out for Cardington, 20 miles down the road. The Cardington Rotary had lunch waiting for us. (It’s really all about food on this ride)

Our steady climb began after lunch and continued until we arrived at our stop for the day outside of Bellville.

The country side was beautiful today. Lots of old barns, little white churches, and Amish buggies.

We’re staying at a spectacular place tonight. A friend from the Mansfield Rotary club is hosting many of the riders. He and his wife have a huge property and a gorgeous log cabin. We rolled in around 3:15 today and were greeted with cold beverages and plenty of shady places to relax.

The Mansfield Rotary Club served a fantastic picnic dinner. We spent the evening making new friends and getting to know our fellow bikers better.

Tomorrow we head east to Mohican State Forest, Loudonville and then north to Ashland. Tomorrow’s distance will be close to today’s, but we have some very serious hills and more hot temps.
